Registration for the 2004 season of Red Devils Football is approaching and local players are invited to join in the football and cheerleading program. Red Devils Football/Cheerleading serves the communities of Levittown, Island Trees, East Meadow, Hicksville, Wantagh, Westbury and surrounding areas.
"Meet the Coach Day" is taking place on Saturday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at Fred Neist Field, Jerusalem Ave. in Levittown. Registration by mail may be sent to Ed Auld at 11 Bark Lane, Levittown NY 11756. To register in person, residents may go to Fred Neist Field on Jerusalem Avenue (north of Hempstead Tpke., south of Old County Road, across from Pilot Lane) between noon and 3 p.m. on the following Sunday: May 16, June 13 and July 19. Checks should be made payable to Levittown Midget Football.
The Red Devil Board of Directors encourages their coaches to give all children sufficient playing time.
"Free for 2004" activities include, from July 26 through July 30 from 6 to 8 p.m., five evenings at Jerusalem Avenue Field: Red Devil football camp for all registered and paid football players and Red Devil cheerleading camp for all registered and paid cheerleaders.
Football players must be registered to get their uniforms. Uniform distribution will take place on the following dates from 5 to 7 p.m. - July 19 for 11, 12 and seniors; July 20 for 9 and 10s; July 21 for 7 and 8s and July 22 for 5 and 6s.

Program directors note that the school districts within the communities that the Red Devils program represents do not finance or endorse the program in any way. In most cases, parents can request with whom they want their child to play.
Option #1C - Peanut Cheerleading - Registration fee $45. Anyone born from Dec. 1, 1997 through Nov. 30, 1999. Practice begins on Aug. 3. This is not a travel team. There are additional fees for team parent/coach gifts.
Option #2C - Games Only Cheerleaders - Registration fee $75. Open to anyone born from Dec. 1, 1989 through Nov. 30, 1997. Practice begins on Aug. 3. This is a travel team. There are additional fees for team parent/coach gifts.
Option #3C - Competition Cheerleaders - Registration fee $75. Must be registered by Aug. 1. Anyone born from Dec. 1, 1990 through Nov. 30, 1997. Practice begins on Aug. 2. This is a travel team. There are no requests at this level. There are additional fees for team parent/coach gifts.
Option #1F - Peanut Tackle Football - Registration fee $45. Anyone born from Dec. 1, 1997 through Nov. 30, 1999. Practice begins on Aug. 3; two practices per week. Games are played on weekends at MacLaren Field in Levittown.
Option #2F - Tackle Football - Registration fee $75. Anyone born from Dec. 1, 1991 through Nov. 30, 1999. Practice begins on Aug. 2 and there are three practices per week. This is a travel team and there are no requests at this level. This team is chosen by a draft system, subject to age and weight. All players will play for the team they are drafted to - no exceptions.
Option #3F - Senior Tackle Football - Registration fee $80. Anyone born from Dec. 1, 1989 through Nov. 30, 1997 is eligible. Practice begins Aug. 2; three practices per week. This is a travel team.
Twelve, 13-and 14-year-old players and cheerleaders will participate in Holiday Bowl on Dec. 4 and 5. There will be separate fundraising for this. More information will be given at "Meet the Coach Day" and throughout the season.
Maximum fee for football and cheerleading is $160 per family. All fees include basic uniform and equipment for football players and cheerleaders. There will be a $35 charge for all returned checks. No refunds will be given after Aug. 15.
