The Levittown Kiwanis Club would like to wish everyone in the community a healthy and productive holiday season. Make sure to enjoy your loved ones during this special time of year.

Kiwanis: A service club founded in Detroit, Michigan USA, in 1915. Purposes include the promotion of human and spiritual values, good citizenship, and altruistic service through voluntary action. Motto: "We Build." Membership is by invitation and is open to active or retired business and professional men and women who reside, conduct their business, or have other community interests in the area of the club.

Kiwanis Service: Each Kiwanis club sponsors a variety of service and fund-raising projects, selected by the club to meet local needs. Last year, Kiwanis clubs contributed more than 22 million man-hours and raised $65 million (US) for these service activities.

Do the two paragraphs above intrigue you? Is this the first time you've heard of the Kiwanis Club. So, it's the best kept secret in Levittown? We don't want that to be the case. We want many more people in the community to get to know us. The more people who know what we do; the more they will be inclined to join us.

Levittown Kiwanis is planning a 5K Run in June. Would you like to be a sponsor or runner? Please contact Mr. Kevin Regan at 731-5016. We also need volunteers to help that day. All the proceeds go to Kiwanis sponsored charities.

What could you do for your community? Think about it!

Remember the summer is on its way. The Levittown Kiwanis Club gives out scholarships to high school seniors every year. They also send needy children from the community to Camp Kiwanis. The camp costs $395 per child per week. Please send your donation to:

Would you like to help us help young children? Then join us.

Would you like to join an organization of community people who give back to their community? Are you interested in joining? Please come to one of our meetings for a "look see." I guarantee you'll be impressed.

Please save all your soda/drink flip top tabs and all your Campbell soup labels and General Mills box tops and turn them in to the Levittown Kiwanis Club at one of our meetings. You may ask: why labels and soda tabs? The labels and box tops go to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, which they redeem for a monetary amount. The soda tabs go to the Fork Lane School in Hicksville and they give them to the Nassau County Medical Center Burn Unit.
