The 45th annual Volunteer Firefighter's Bowling Tournament for the championship of Nassau and Suffolk Counties is currently being organized. The tournament is open to volunteer and exempt firefighters only. It is not necessary to belong to an organized fire department or fire company team; any five firefighters can enter a team. There is also no limit as to the number of teams a department or company may enter, but no individual may bowl more than twice in this tournament. In addition to prize money and a three-leg trophy, there will be a permanent trophy awarded to the winning team.
The tournament will be held at North Levittown Lanes, Schoolhouse Road in Levittown (just north of Hempstead Turnpike). The dates of the tournament are April 24 and 25 and e-mail or fax reservations will be accepted until April 6. Reservations must include full team with averages. Full payment must be made before April 13 in order to be accepted. The Saturday times are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday times are 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Tournament Secretary Eileen Bopp or Paul Bopp at 796-7708, e-mail cuplybopp@aol.com or call North Levittown Lanes at 735-3900.
