The MacArthur Generals won the Nassau County Championships this past weekend. This was the Generals' fourth straight year of sweeping the Dual Meet Championship and the Nassau County Tournament. MacArthur squeezed by Nassau powerhouses Long Beach, Massapequa and East Meadow High Schools to win the crown.

Seven Generals brought home All County honors. Senior John Finnerty placed fifth; senior Matt Myers placed fourth, as did junior Sal Villiante; senior Ed Loscalzo and junior Brian Scher both brought home the third place bronze medal.

Steven Delorenzo and Bruce Popko both won the Nassau County Championships. Steven beat Jullian Fontaine of Long Beach in sudden death overtime in the county finals. Bruce defeated Division's Chris Siraco by a score of 9 to 3. Both Bruce and Steven will represent Nassau County in the New York State Championships in Buffalo.
