The MacArthur Generals won their fourth consecutive Nassau County Dual Meet Championship this past weekend. No team has ever won four straight. The Generals defeated top-ranked Massapequa High School in the semi-finals. MacArthur hosted the event, which reached a capacity crowd. The Generals won seven out of 13 bouts winning by a score of 34 to 19. Sophomore Steve Delorenzo began the Generals' attack. Bruce Popko, Bill and Danny Calvacca, Ed Loscalzo, Sal Villante and Brian Scher all recorded wins. Ted Diamantis rallied to a 5-4 victory, defeating 2003 All County wrestler Dan Young in the 145 lb. weight class.

MacArthur then advanced to the Nassau County finals, where they wrestled #2 seed Long Beach High School. The Generals had suffered their lone Nassau County loss two weeks prior to the finals with Long Beach beating the Generals 31 to 29, giving MacArthur its first loss in Nassau County in four years.

The Generals avenged their loss by defeating Long Beach by a score of 32 to 22. Matt Myers began the Generals' attack. Steve Delorenzo, Danny and Billy Calvacca, Ed Loscalzo, Brian Scher and Chris Xanthoudakis all recorded victories.
