Last Saturday, the Generals varsity wrestling team took to the mat against Longwood High School. Longwood brags on of New York State's premier teams this season. The Generals won 32-27 in a match which came down to the wire. The Generals also defeated highly-regarded Freeport High School by a score of 42-9. Brian Scher, Bruce Popko, Billy Calvacca and Steve Delorenzo all had close battles but prevailed for the Generals. On Tuesday, Feb. 3, the Generals will host the preliminary and quarter finals of the Dual Meet Championships. The Generals will look to win their fourth straight championship. Though MacArthur suffered their first Dual Meet loss in four years to Long Beach High School the other night, they are gearing up to avenge their loss and prevail as Nassau County champions once again. Captains Ed Loscalzo and Matt Myers are preparing the troops and the Generals look ready. Good luck to the MacArthur Generals.
