On Nov. 17, the Generals will take to the mat. MacArthur hopes to win their fourth straight Nassau county dual meet and tournament title, though MacArthur lost 16 seniors to graduation, 11 of which were Nassau county place-winners. Coach Greenblatt feels optimistic about the Generals' quest. Long Beach, Massapequa, East Meadow and Bethpage all return most of their line-ups and they will all challenge for the county title. Coach Greenblatt feels the squad is very inexperienced but they show a lot of promise. The program's work ethic has always helped them to overachieve.
If the few returning seniors can lead the young Generals, Coach Greenblatt feels the team will overcome their lack of experience and challenge for Nassau county title. They have scheduled an incredibly tough schedule. Most schools schedule teams who they can beat. This ensures a winning record. They are not looking for a winning record; they are looking for a Nassau county title. MacArthur must wrestle the best teams in the nation in order to improve.
By the end of the season Coach Greenblatt hopes the team's level of competition will give them the experience necessary to win another title. The Generals will travel to the Johnson City duals where they will see New York's top teams such as Valley Central, Fulton, Spencerport, to name a few. The Generals will also wrestle New Jersey Powerhouse, Bergen Catholic, Sachem, Brentwood, Longwood and many others.
