Island Trees Board Elects Officers for 2003-2004
At a recent meeting, the Island Trees Board of Education elected Robert Condela as president for the 2003-2004 school year. Carl Bonsignore was elected vice president and new trustee Kenneth Fazio joined the veteran board of education this year after Jerry Donahue chose not to run after 15 years of service.

Terra Chips Discover LI Bike Ride This Weekend
Wantagh Parkway to be Closed October 12 -- The Wantagh State Parkway will be officially closed on Sunday, Oct. 12 for the Terra Chips Discover Long Island Bike Ride when a great visual of bicyclists will be taking over the highway. The New York State Police and the New York Department of Transportation will officially close the parkway to raise money for local parks with the Terra Chips Discover Long Island Bike Ride.

Blue Dragons Open 2003 Season
The Blue Dragons, under the new leadership of head coach Ray Weidlein, opened the 2003 campaign with a hard fought loss to the # 3 seeded Plainedge Red Devils on September 20 by the score of 32 to 21. Plainedge jumped out to an early lead. The Blue Dragons fought back but Division's comeback fell short as time ran out. Jimmy Davis passed for 194 yards including passes to Tommy Davis and John Franco for touchdowns.

Island Trees High School Athletics
On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Bulldogs fought a good battle against the Jericho Jayhawks. For the first home game for the Dawgs, the game proved to be a well-fought skirmish. The battle began with great spirit and desire on the side of the Dawgs. After receiving the ball, the Dawgs only needed a couple of plays to score the first TD, thanks to Anthony DiDomencico. The Dawgs managed to do well for the rest of the first quarter and scored one more TD, making it 14-0. The second quarter began with a tough fight.
