Frank Mormando, proprietor of North and South Levittown Lanes, is celebrating 50 years of business in the Levittown community with two weekends of "The Good Old Days of Bowling" Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, and Friday through Monday, Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. Prices will be rolled back on bowling, $1.50 a game, soft drinks, hot dogs and shoe rental all just 99 cents each during celebration days.
On Aug. 23, at North Levittown Lanes from noon to 5 p.m., representatives from local police, health and community services will be participating in a "Community Services Exhibit." Expected to attend are 8th Precinct POP Unit, the Levittown Fire Department's Gardiners Avenue Fire Safety Unit, the Have-A-Heart Children with Cancer Society, Nassau University Medical Center's Drug & Alcohol Division and Yours, Ours, Mine Community Center representatives. Levittown residents are invited to visit and meet with their public servants, learn what services each of these important agencies provide and get to know their neighbors.
