Fuschillo, McDonough Host Long Island Terrorist Preparedness Hearing
New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. and Assemblyman David G. McDonough recently hosted a public hearing entitled "How Prepared Is Long Island for a Terrorist Attack," with Senator Michael A.L. Balboni (7th Senate District), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs. The hearing took place on June 3 at Farmingdale State University's Roosevelt Hall.

Town of Hempstead Honors Local Veterans in Patriotic Salute
The veterans of the United States certainly know the price of freedom. It is one of sacrifice, of leaving all that you love in order to fight for it. In Veterans Association hospitals in Northport and St. Albans, some veterans continue to sacrifice everyday. Their constant payment for freedom is evident in the wounds they endured during the horrors of war.

Darcy Wins 'Diamond Award'
Division Avenue High School senior and right hand pitcher Jesse Darcy has just been named by the Nassau County High School Baseball Coaches Association as the "Diamond Award" winner. This award is symbolic of whom the coaches feel is the best pitcher in Nassau County.
