The Levittown Kiwanis Club has a very important announcement:

You are all welcome to come to a lunch meeting of the Levittown Kiwanis Club on Friday, June 27 at La Focaccia at 12:30 p.m. After many years of night meetings we are thinking of again having one or two lunch meetings a month. We hope to make it easier for potential members to join and come to our meetings. You could have a choice as to which meetings you could attend. Please come and visit us for lunch.

What is the Kiwanis Club of Levittown all about?

Young children: Priority One: Addresses the needs of children prenatal through age five.

Every club is urged to support Young Children: Priority One by:

* Expanding its current projects to help young children.

* Creating a partnership project for young children that involve other Kiwanis clubs and organizations that serve young children.

* Supporting the Worldwide Service Project by learning about Iodine Deficiency Disorders and financially contributing to the efforts to eliminate this problem from the world.

The club would like to thank everyone who participated in the 5K Run/Walk on June 15. It was a huge success.

We also want to thank all who donated to the scholarships that were given out to our High School seniors.

There is still time for you or your organization to send a child to camp.

Please be aware that the Levittown Kiwanis will soon be selling their club raffle tickets. The cost is $25 and there is a drawing every month. The prizes are:

1st prize $100

2nd prize $ 50

3rd prize $ 25

but the December drawing prize is:

1st prize $250

2nd prize $100

3rd prize $ 50

Are you feeling lucky? Stop by one of our weekly meetings and buy a ticket or two. The proceeds go to scholarships and summer camp.

Please save all your soda/drink flip top tabs and all your Campbell soup labels and General Mills box tops and turn them in to the Levittown Kiwanis Club at one of our meetings. You may ask: why labels and soda tabs? The labels and box tops go to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, which they redeem for a monetary amount. The soda tabs go to the Fork Lane School in Hicksville and they give them to the Nassau County Medical Center Burn Unit.

Terrific Kids Program

The programs are over until the beginning of the new school year, September 2003. We want to thank everyone for their support of this wonderful program. Over 1000 students have received a Terrific Kids certificate last year. Please watch for our bumper sticker.
