Al Celentano, long-time former principal of General Douglas MacArthur High School who retired in June 2002, died suddenly on May 31 after suffering a heart attack at his home. FULL STORY

This year's Division baseball team completed a very strong season and captured the league title. The team went 17-7, playing a very strong schedule against many of the top teams in the county. When the county tournament reached the quarterfinals, six of the eight teams alive were all from the Dragons baseball schedule. The Dragons played 15 of their 24 games against all of these top teams. When the Dragons got to the semi-finals it was Division, MacArthur and Wantagh, along with Clarke as the final four teams. Division played seven of its games against MacArthur and Wantagh.
