Local School Budgets Pass
The Levittown and Island Trees school budgets for the 2003-2004 school year were both passed by district residents on Tuesday. The budget vote and election, originally scheduled for May 20, was postponed by two weeks this year, due to mandated changes by the State Legislature.

Traffic Circle Dedicated in Honor of Craig Schwab
In honor of former Levittown teacher Craig Schwab, an educator in three of the district's schools who passed away last year, the Wisdom Lane Middle School traffic circle was dedicated in Schwab's name during a special ceremony held on May 14.

Island Trees High School Athletics
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Island Trees Track & Field team continued to improve on its seasonal goals. The Bulldogs had four athletes qualify for the Nassau County State Qualifier Meet. Winning an event at this meet earns you a position to compete in the state championship.

Dragons Ousted From Playoffs
In round two of the County Baseball Tournament, the Division Avenue Blue Dragons played top seed MacArthur only to lose 4-2. Juniors Zach Flinn and Joe Seide combined to toss a five-hitter.
