Chief Ronald T. Kerwin

The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Levittown Fire District, chiefs of the Levittown Fire Department, the officers and members of Ladder Company One and the members of the Levittown Fire Department wish to invite the Levittown Community to a dedication honoring the memory of Chief Ronald T. Kerwin, who made the ultimate sacrifice performing his duties at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Chief Kerwin was working as Lieutenant in Squad 288 FDNY and responded immediately to the call at the WTC that morning.

On Friday, June 6 at 7 p.m., the roadway alongside the Gardiners Avenue Firehouse will be renamed Ronald T. Kerwin Way by Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray. This will be followed with a brief ceremony dedicating the bricks and a plaque which have been placed in tribute in front of the firehouse. The conclusion of the evening will follow with the dedication of the Gardiners Avenue Firehouse Meeting/Training Room as the Chief Ronald T. Kerwin Hall. Refreshments will be served in the hall afterwards.
