South Levittown Lanes and North Levittown Lanes and Westbury Bowl, in cooperation with the Levittown, Island Trees, Westbury and East Meadow School Districts, will be giving a free game of bowling, and a free shoe rental to students in these districts, beginning Thursday, June 26, and continuing every day of the summer vacation through Labor Day, Sept. 1.
The fifth annual "Summer Bowling Bonanza" follows four years of increasing participation by students in these and surrounding school districts. Last summer better than 10,000 free games were bowled by local youth.
Students in Levittown, Island Trees, Westbury and East Meadow will be given their "Bowling Bonanza Certificates" in school in early June. They must take the certificate to either North or South Levittown Lanes or Westbury Bowl and register to receive one free game of bowling and one free shoe rental any or all days of the summer vacation.
Those who live outside these districts or attend private schools may pick up a "Bowling Bonanza Certificate" in mid June at any of the three bowling centers.
Frank Mornando, proprietor of Levittown Lanes and Westbury Bowl began this program in 1999 with the help of then commanding officer of the Levittown Police Athletic League, John Hoffman, with the idea of giving local youth something constructive to do, all summer long, in a safe, supervised surrounding. Since its inception five years ago, more and more children and families have enjoyed this valuable program.
In 2003, they are pleased to announce the co-sponsorship of this program by the "Martial Arts Summer Camp." In addition to their summer camp program for youth they also have a "Free Pick Up, After School Fall Program" perfect for families with two working parents. They can be reached at 932-5275.
Those who have any questions on this program please contact Paul LaMar at North Levittown Lanes, 735-3900.
