Girls: April 13

Third and Fourth Grade: Final Score: Levittown (4), Plainedge (4)

The third and fourth grade Levittown PAL girls' team played their second game on Sunday, April 13 against Plainedge PAL. The captains for Sunday's game were Christina Rea and Kayla Sheldrick.

The Levittown Lady Tomahawks never gave up against their more experienced opponent. It was an exciting game: Plainedge was leading by just one goal through the second half. That was until Emily Hanifan scored three goals and Christina Rea scored one goal for the Levittown team. Caitlin Cooksey played in the goal and made numerous saves for the defense. Dana Aragona assisted the defense with an exceptional performance throughout the game.

The last 10 seconds were crucial for the end result. Plainedge had possession of the ball and was in scoring position with two passes completed, but Levittown held their ground and Plainedge ran out of time. The game ended in a 4 - 4 tie. Congratulations to the third-and fourth-grade girls and to Emily Hanifan who earned the game ball for Outstanding Player of the Game.

Boys: April 14

Fourth Grade: Final Score: Levittown (9), Bayville (6)

The Levittown Tomahawks fourth-grade team had an impressive 9 - 6 win over a talented Bayville team. The game started off great for the Tomahawks. Jamie McAndrew (three goals - 2 assists) got them off to a quick start with the first of his three goals early in the first quarter. Thomas Nuckel (four goals) and Kyle Jordan (one goal, one assist) added one apiece to take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter. Bayville started to come back in the second quarter, however, some outstanding saves by Max Tansou, McAndrew putting in number two, and Patrick Dreiss adding another gave the Tomahawks a 5-4 halftime lead.

They started off slow and after Nuckel scored his second goal, Bayville came back again to tie the score at 6 -6 to end the third quarter. The fourth quarter proved to be the difference. Outstanding defensive play by Zack Trimboli, Tyler Hasset, Peter Mack, Zach Esposito and Joseph Connors along with the fantastic goalie play by Thomas McDevitt held the Bayville team scoreless the rest of the game. By scooping up ground balls and keeping the ball in the offensive zone the great midfield play by Patrick Buckley (two assists) Timothy Bailey, Brendan McNamara, Dennis Rothar, Sean Horton and Harry Stopp (one assist) allowed McAndrew to put in another and Nuckel to finish the game off with two more. This team showed tremendous teamwork; this was a team win with all players contributing to the final score.
