Kiwanis A service club founded in Detroit, Michigan USA, in 1915. Purposes include the promotion of human and spiritual values, good citizenship, and altruistic service through voluntary action. Motto: "We Build." Membership is by invitation and is open to active or retired business and professional men and women who reside, conduct their business, or have other community interests in the area of the club.

Kiwanis Service: Each Kiwanis club sponsors a variety of service and fund-raising projects, selected by the club to meet local needs. Last year, Kiwanis clubs contributed more than 22 million man-hours and raised $65 million (US) for these service activities.

Do the two paragraphs above intrigue you? Is this the first time you've heard of the Kiwanis Club. So, it's the best kept secret in Levittown? We don't want that to be the case. We want many more people in the community to get to know us. The more people who know what we do; the more they will be inclined to join us.

The Levittown Kiwanis is planning a 5K Run in June. Would you like to be a sponsor or a runner? Please contact Mario A. Bucci at 520-8330, Extension 650. We also need volunteers to help that day. All the proceeds go to Kiwanis sponsored charities!

Remember the summer is on its way. The Levittown Kiwanis Club gives out scholarships to High School Seniors every year. They also send needy children from the community to Camp Kiwanis. Please send your donation to:

Please save all your soda/drink flip top tabs and all your Campbell soup labels and General Mills box tops and turn them in to the Levittown Kiwanis Club at one of our meetings. You may ask: why labels and soda tabs? The labels and box tops go to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, which they redeem for a monetary amount. The soda tabs go to the Bellmore Fire Department and Fork Lane School in Hicksville. They are redeemed for monetary donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
