Leaning Wall Causes Division Avenue Complex Evacuation
The Levittown Fire Department evacuated the tenants of the Division Avenue apartment complex on Monday when it was noticed that the northeast wall of the building began leaning. To ensure the safety of the building's occupants, firefighters, led by Chief John Rottkamp, immediately asked residents to vacate the premises, located at 110/112 Division Avenue in Levittown. They were temporarily provided shelter at neighboring Division Avenue High School when school officials immediately stepped in to help. Volunteers of the American Red Cross in Nassau County (ARC/Nassau), who were contacted by Rottkamp, assisted residents at the high school.

Relay for Life Remembers Cancer Victims, Survivors
Farmingdale State University will be the host of this year's Relay for Life, an overnight celebration of hope, progress and answers held in honor and celebration of millions of Americans who have survived cancer, to remember those who lost their lives to cancer and to raise funds to fight the disease.

Levittown Hosts Nassau County PAL Bowling Tournament
Levittown Police Activity League hosted the annual countywide PAL bowling tournament on Friday, Feb. 21 at Levittown South Bowling Alley. There were six units represented at the tournament and over 140 children, age 5 to 15 competed in the event.

The Generals wrestling team broke the county record for both points scored in a tournament and the present record of 12 All-County Wrestling in the Nassau County Wrestling Championships.
