Violet "Babs" Story, 83, formerly of Levittown, died on Feb. 14, 2003, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Babs was born in England and moved with her family to Brooklyn in 1927. She and her husband were original purchasers and lived in Levittown for 37 years, retiring to Duck, NC in 1985. Babs will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin chiffon pie. She was married for 46 years to Major General Harold R. Story who died in 1987. She is survived by her children, Susan Story of Richmond, VA, and Robert Story (Monique) of California; and four grandchildren, Jennifer, Eric, Katie and Sean. The family wishes to thank her friends at Hodges Manor for their love and care. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Edward E. Hindy, of Levittown, died on Feb. 11, 2003. He was retired from the NYPD. Husband of the late Elizabeth. Father of Linda Telford (Thomas), Janet Weinmann (Walter) and Elaine Bretey (Philip). Grandfather of Joanna, Lori, William, Erin, Tami, Danielle and Eddie and Dee and family.
