On Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, the Salk Middle School physical education department will be hosting its fifth annual "National Girls and Women in Sports Night" from 7 to 9 p.m. National Girls and Women in Sports Night is a special event for girls and women to celebrate their participation in sports.

This year's theme is "Succeed in Sport, Lead in Life." The Salk Physical Education Department sponsors a "Girls Night Out" to coincide with this national celebration. The evening will take place in the Salk gymnasium and typically consists of 100 students, parents and teachers. The evening will begin with NY Power Women's Soccer Team guest speakers, followed by events such as Birthday Line Up, Islands and Volleyball. At the conclusion of the evening all participants will receive certificates of participation along with pizza and refreshments in the Salk Cafe.
