The winter bowling season begins anew for the Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council, at North Levittown Lanes in early January with the start of four programs: Two for elementary school children and two for students attending middle school.
On Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m., the Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council's Middle School Mixed League starts its winter season. Teams consist of three bowlers and may be any combination of boys and girls. Bowling is completed by 9 p.m. each week. All team competition is handicapped at 100 percent, meaning lower average teams receive "bonus" pins, making for an even playing field. A second Middle School Program begins on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. This is to accommodate teams that may be closed out of the Tuesday program, or that cannot bowl Tuesday evenings. Bowlers/teams may join either program by calling or visiting North Levittown Lanes prior to the league starting date. Call 735-3900. Students may join individually, with another or form their own teams. North Levittown Lanes will place all bowlers with incomplete teams.
On Thursday, Jan. 9 and Saturday, Jan. 11, the Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council's Elementary School Bowling Leagues begin at North Levittown Lanes. Teams consist of three bowlers and may be made up of any combination of boys and girls. Children joining individually or with one other will be placed on full teams. All competition is handicapped at 100 percent making all competition as fair as possible. Trophies will be awarded to top teams and high individual games and series for both boys and girls.
Sign up by visiting North Levittown Lanes or calling 735-3900.
