It was an exciting year for the seventh-grade boys soccer team! There were many highlights that made the year a memorable one for the Wildcats. The boys began slowly, with a record of one win and four losses before turning their season around. It took a lot of effort from all the players including Terry McHugh, Matt Ottoson, Robbie Schacht, Paul Bishoff, Kyle Carley, Brian Farley, Danny Joseph, Danny Room and Cody Lacey who helped keep up the morale, believing in themselves and their teammates.

The team went on to win three of their last four games, and tied Wantagh, one of the toughest teams in the league, ending their season at four wins, four losses and one tie.

Offensive contributions were made by Jarrod Allen, Bobby Barsch, Bernie Clement, Patrick Gonzalez, Max Johns, Jesse Lavalle, David Nyrenberg, Matt Epple, Chris O'Leary and Georgie Woodiwiss, who made great strides this year!

The team would not have had such a successful run at the end of the season without a strong defense. Emilio Colato, Peter Darnaud, Joey Johnson and Mark Hinrichs helped keep the team in all the games and played tough down the stretch. Finally, Georgie Woodiwiss, Paul Bishoff and Danny Joseph defended the goal, making it quite difficult on any team trying to score.

Coach Frank Mortillaro would like to thank the talented group of young men for a fantastic year!

The eighth-grade boys soccer team had a strong finish to its 2002 season by going 3-1-1 in their last five games. The goalie tandem of Roger Clement and John Ballantyne was the strength of this ball club.

The offense was in good hands with Camron Einnerman, Thomas Adair, Michael Surdo and Greg Jurkowich. This foursome provided a steady attack all year. Defensively, the Wildcats were led by Chris Mesonero, Garrett Einnerman, Ryan Nagelberg, Nick Valintoi and Greg Delaney. This group kept the Cats competitive throughout the season.

The rest of the members of the 2002 Wisdom Lane Middle School team were: Joe Cangelosi, Dave Caradonna, Nick Christofides, James Coyne, Joe DeCosta, Matt Desanno, Thomas Judge, Naved Khan, Brian Mahr, Nolan Meditz, Chris Moreira, Omid Nouravi, Joe Parks and Chris Pretter. Thank you for supporting the Wildcats.
