The Levittown School District has joined about 20 other districts in an effort to sue the state Department of Education for what they allege was a manipulated 2001 physics Regents examination. The board of education on Nov. 13 unanimously authorized the law firm Ingerman Smith, LLP to pursue litigation. The district's share of the litigation is not to exceed $4000.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the New York State Cross Country Championship Competition was held in Wappinger Falls. Levittown resident, 14-year-old Marielle Segarra, represented Kellenberg HS. It is the first time Kellenberg has had a girls team make it to the state competitions, according to Coach Brown. A former student of Wisdom Lane Middle School and member of the Levittown Track Team, she decided to try out for the Cross Country team in early September.
