The Division Avenue High School junior varsity football team finished their season with another victory. The Dragons beat the Floral Park Knights 21-6 and improved their conference three weeks record to 7-1. Division's defense forced four fumbles and had an interception while dominating the Knights offense. Early in the first quarter Ryan Nuckel knocked the ball loose and Jim Davis recovered for the Dragons. Mike Oliveri connected with Jon Franco for a 32-yard gain to the Floral Park two-yard line. Nick Buccello punched it in for the first score of the game. Later in the second quarter, after an interception by Jim Davis, Ryan Nuckel scored on a 7-play 45-yard drive to give Division a 14-0 halftime lead.

In the second half Floral Park scored on their first possession to make it an interesting 14-6 ball game. Then, early in the fourth quarter, Sean Hall blocked a punt setting the Dragons up for a short drive to the end zone. Nick Buccello sealed the victory with his second touchdown, a three-yard run for the final score. Floral Park was unable to move the ball and pose any threat to the Dragons 21-6 lead. Congratulations to all the Dragons on a great year!

Varsity finished their season 3-5 with their loss to Floral Park. Thanks boys for an exciting season, and for the entertainment and excitement, which you provided over the past eight weeks. To the seniors on the team we wish you well for the balance of your time at Division and then too we wish you much luck and success as you venture out into the world. The season wouldn't have been complete without the fans so thanks to all the parents, students and faculty for your continued support. Go Dragons!
