Levittown senior citizens are invited to the 17th Annual Thanksgiving dinner to be held on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Levittown Memorial Education Center, beginning at 6 p.m.

The dinner, which has been organized by the Levittown Fire Department for several years, is held annually to thank and recognize senior citizens within the Levittown Fire District for their contributions to the community. This year the event is being sponsored by Rescue Company 4 and JB Creations.

As in years past, culinary arts students at LMEC will prepare the food the night of the event to make sure it is served fresh that evening. The school district has been taking part in this event for over 10 years. Food is served to seniors by members of the Ladies Auxiliary and Levittown Fire Department members. In addition, Boy and Girl Scouts members occasionally come to help with the affair.

This event is restricted to seniors living within the fire district. Those who require transportation to and from the event may receive it courtesy of the Town of Hempstead.

Seniors are asked to bring one new toy to the dinner to help in the fire department's Adopt-A-Family program which takes place later in the year. For more information, please call 731-6421.
