Frederick Von Burg, a teacher in the Levittown School District for over 31 years, recently released his new novel Keep My White Sneakers, Kit Carson, which is aimed at young adults aged 14-18.
Levittown Schools Host Toys for Sick Children Holiday Benefit Dinner
The Gerald R. Claps Career & Technology Center Key Club and the Salk Middle School Builders Club present the Toys For Sick Children Holiday Benefit Dinner, to be held on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Claps Career & Technology Center, 150 Abbey Lane in Levittown.
Levittown Panthers Baseball
First year Levittown Panthers Sr. and Jr. baseball teams concluded the fall season in grand fashion. The 13-year-old Sr. Panthers entered the Triple Crown Fall Tournament held in Holbrook and placed 2nd. This qualified the Panthers for the Triple Crown Nationals held in St. Augustine, FL. Manager Kenny Nizinski and the Sr. Panthers geared up and headed down south. The Panthers represented themselves well and unfortunately were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Congratulations goes out to the players of the Levittown Sr. Panthers Fall Team, Triple Crown Tournament Team and the Florida Team; Kenny Nizinski, Chris Sanabria, Adam Montvillo, Danny Karcher, Travis Ratliff, Mathew Mancz, Bryan Arzberger, Joey Melendez, Tom Addair, Mike Surdo, James Sanacore, James Guzikowski, Ryan Nagelberg, Anthony Alvino, Ray Brandenberger, Joe Alberti, Manager Kenny Nizinski, Coaches Gerard Desmond and Rich Melendez. Jr. Panthers who played on the Florida team were John Nizinski, Chris Darpa, Michael Lagalante and Stephen McNamara.
DAHS JV Football Finishes Season with Victory
The Division Avenue High School junior varsity football team finished their season with another victory. The Dragons beat the Floral Park Knights 21-6 and improved their conference three weeks record to 7-1. Division's defense forced four fumbles and had an interception while dominating the Knights offense. Early in the first quarter Ryan Nuckel knocked the ball loose and Jim Davis recovered for the Dragons. Mike Oliveri connected with Jon Franco for a 32-yard gain to the Floral Park two-yard line. Nick Buccello punched it in for the first score of the game. Later in the second quarter, after an interception by Jim Davis, Ryan Nuckel scored on a 7-play 45-yard drive to give Division a 14-0 halftime lead.
