On Oct. 24, St. Bernard's concluded its second session of its newly-formed "Super Star Program." This program was started in April 2002 by Kathy Belmonte and has shown to be a great success. The program runs once a week for four weeks in the spring and the fall. It is designed for young people with special needs.

In the four weeks of play, the youngsters were shown how to pass the ball, dribble the ball and many different defense moves. Basketball games were organized for all the players.

The hard work and drive of these players was evident to all involved. An awards ceremony was given at the end of the program where each player received a trophy for his or her outstanding hard work and participation.

As St. Bernard's sadly ends the program for the year, they hope to have all these wonderful players back in the spring for the next session. They thank all who participated and hope they all have a great winter. They look forward to seeing all the "Super Stars" in the spring.
