Following a close game against Clarke on Oct. 19, with Clarke scoring the leading touchdown with 2:41 left in the fourth quarter which prevented a Division upset, Division brought home a win against Roslyn on Oct. 26 with a final score of 28-7.

The Roslyn victory was the result of a strong offensive running game coordinated by quarterback Jim Davis, led by Tailback Sean Gilbert, who rushed for 156 yards on 15 carries, including three touchdowns. In his first varsity game, sophomore Paul Gruber rushed for 123 yards on 17 carries, including one touchdown. Defense played hard and held Roslyn scoreless for most of the game. John Colucci led Division with 11 tackles and John Terrillion followed with nine tackles and a sac.

This week on Nov. 2, Division varsity hosts Jericho at 2 p.m.

Next week, on Nov. 9, Division Avenue High School is having its homecoming. The parade will kick off from Wisdom Lane at 11 a.m. and will culminate with the homecoming festivities in the field at Division Avenue HS. Division varsity will then host Floral Park at 2 p.m. Please come out and support the kids, the team and the school.
