Historic Facts About the Island Trees School District
In preparing for its 100th anniversary celebration, the Island Trees School District has been compiling loads of information regarding the history of the community, the district and its schools. A special anniversary newsletter was sent home to all residents living within the district noting some historic events and even more will be on display at a district-wide party to be held later this month.

'Heroes' Walk' Dedicated to Wantagh WTC Victims
Hempstead Town Supervisor Rich Guardino and Councilwoman Angie Cullin dedicated Park Avenue in Wantagh on Sept. 21 as "Heroes' Walk" in honor of nearly a dozen Wantagh residents who were tragically killed on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center.

The Levittown Chamber of Commerce will host a Rock-n-Roll Bowling fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 13 at South Levittown Lanes beginning at 8 p.m. (check in time is 7:30 p.m.).

Seniors Soar at Division Ave. High School
This year the girls' varsity soccer team at Division Ave. High School is having one of its most successful seasons in recent memory. The Lady Dragons currently have eight wins and one loss overall and are a perfect 6-0 in conference five. This fantastic first half of the season was capped off by a very exciting 2-1 win over cross-town rival MacArthur High School.
