One Year Later- In Remembrance of September 11, 2001
In remembrance of the events of and to honor those who died on September 11, 2001, local houses of worship are opening their doors to all persons of all faiths from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11. They invite their neighbors to join them for prayer, meditation and support during the day. Planned events include:

Communities Commemorate Sept. 11 Anniversary
East Meadow's 9-11 Remembrance, hosted by the East Meadow Fire District in conjunction with the Council of East Meadow Community Organizations (CEMCO), the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of East Meadow, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the East Meadow Fire District headquarters located at 197 East Meadow Avenue next to the East Meadow Public Library.

Nassau to Host Pre-Olympic Competition
Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi has announced that the NCAA Division I Championship/Competition Cabinet has approved the Goodwill Games Aquatic Center in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow to be the site for the Men's Swimming and Diving Championships to be held March 25-27, 2004.

Mormando to Enter Bowling Congress "Hall of Fame"
It was announced recently that Nick Mormando, proprietor of North and South Levittown Lanes, Westbury Bowl and Hollywood Lanes and Stuart Lanes in Florida, will be inducted into the American Bowling Congress (ABC) "Hall of Fame" at their Annual Convention & Tournament on March 13, 2003 in Knoxville, TN.
