After sending the children off to school, moms and neighbors meet and bowl together in their weekly PTA Leagues at North and South Levittown Lanes. Their bowling schedules are organized to get them home in time to meet their children as they come back from school and give them weeks off over school holidays. To make life easier, the bowling centers take care of their pre-school age children with free babysitting while they bowl. To perk them up, free coffee is served while they bowl.
Anybody who would like to "get to know" other moms from their child's elementary school and say hello to neighbors and friends in a relaxed, "we take care of you" atmosphere, join the PTA bowling league.
At North Levittown Lanes, programs offered are: The "Northside Ladies PTA League" which bowls on Thursdays, beginning on Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m. and the "Bowling Green Ladies" on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. starting Sept. 6. At South Levittown Lanes, join the "Gardiners Avenue Moms" on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 5 at 9:30 a.m. or the "Holy Family Ladies" on Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. starting Sept. 5.
Teams are comprised of three women. Those interested may make up their own team, join with a friend or an as individual and will be placed on a team. Bowling's unique handicapping system awards "Bonus Pins" to lower average teams, which make all competition fair. Those who have never bowled in a league before, this is the type of program to get started in.
