The 2002 LAC Girls Softball Season ended with three division play-offs.

The Farm League (second-fourth graders) played three games to decide the winner. The Yankees, which were undefeated during the season, won the first game 6-4, the Blue Bombers came back in the fifth inning to win 6-3, game three, the rubber match was an excellent game as well, with the Blue Bombers, managed and coached by Donna Ward and Ruth Babicz, winning the title. The Minor League (fifth and sixth graders) play-offs were decided in two games, The Royal Team, managed and coached by Lori and Guy McBride, beating the Purple Team, managed and coached by Phil Dimonda and Monica Lanigan. Both teams also having terrific seasons.

The Major League (seventh-10th graders) finished their season on Saturday with an extra inning game. The Gold Team, managed and coached by Eric Bauerschmidt and Joe Carrazana, won the first game, dispite a rain suspension, but the Green Team, managed and coached by Carmine Campisi Sr., Carmine Jr. and Pam Drauch, won game two, which had a rain delay. Game three had the lead see-sawing and then tieing after seven inning 5-5. The Green Team scored one run in the eighth inning and held back the Gold Team winning the play-offs. All in all, an excellent season of softball was enjoyed by all of the parents and the girls. We have a tentative date of Sept. 26 for our Annual Awards Dinner, and we are already planning our tournament teams which play in the summer. I wish to thank all of the girls for their hard work, the managers and coaches for their time, and the LAC Board for their continued support.
