The Levittown Tomahawks entered their second week of P.A.L. Lacrosse this past weekend and continued their winning ways. The boys and girls continue to showcase their abilities and talents on the field but more importantly they all are having fun. Here are the available results from the week's action: The third and fourth graders traveled all the way out to Setauket to play one of the best teams on Long Island, Three Village Lacrosse Club. The boys played a hard fought game but ended up losing 12-1. The one Tomahawk goal of the game was scored by Thomas Nuckel, but the entire team led by Sean Anglim, Patrick Buckley, Brendan Cahill and Dennis Rothar put forth a great effort. Zachary Parker, Zachary Trimboli, Jeremy Ball and Harry Sopp all had a great defensive game and Max Transon was super in the goal making 14 saves. This young team (most all are playing for the first time) continues to show their Úquot;never say dieÚquot; attitude and are looking forward to the next game as they take on Glen Cove in a home game at MacArthur H.S. at 9. The fourth-graders took on a talented Freeport team and played to a 7-7 tie in a game that was as exciting as it gets. The game went down to the final seconds and had everybody on their feet. Tommy Duggan led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist. Fred Mase had 2 goals and George Athan and Patrick Barber (playing in his first season) each had a goal and an assist. Dean Knox added an assist. Goalie Matthew Cronin was outstanding in the net as he made 10 spectacular saves. He was helped by the aggressive play of defensemen Ryan Braithwaite, Sean Seiderman, Peter Thearle and Joe Constabile. Ground ball King of the Day was Daniel Bartlett with 7. First year attackman Josh Barry played a great game as he made several fantastic feeds from behind the net. The boys next take on Seaford on Sunday at MacArthur H.S. at 10:30. The fifth-graders went up to North Shore and won an exciting game 10-7. The defense of Ryan Tolan, Ryan Sica, Kyle Perkins and Mike Porfidio was spectacular as they held North Shore to only one goal in the first half. North Shore came back however in the second half bringing the score to 9-7 going into the 4th quarter. Goalie Joe Homkow came up with some super saves to preserve the win. John Thearle had a great game as he dominated the face-offs and scored 5 goals and added one assist. Chris Celentani had a goal and 2 assists. Other goals were scored by Ryan Phillips, Stephan Barea, Rich Ruiz and Tom D'Argenio. Also dishing out assists were Chris Nasiatka (2), John Rothar, Ryan Grant, Kevin Catalano, Austin Policastro and Dan Cava. The team once again dominated on ground balls but the Kings of the Day were Brian Herold, Dan Garafalo and Thomas O'Connor. The boys will take on Bethpage at MacArther H.S. on Sunday at 12:00. The sixth-graders traveled to Seaford and were awesome in an 8-0 victory. Bryan Hall burned up the attack side of the field as he scored 3 goals and assisted on 2 others. Dan McQuaid had a goal and 2 assists and Kyle Carley had 1 goal and 2 assists. Also scoring goals were Brett Tom and defenseman Tom Celentani. Goalie Mike Anderson was super in the net as he had 7 saves and earned the shutout victory with the help of defensemen Tom Celentani, Matt Burmeister and Kyle Harren. Groundball Kings of the Day were Nick Buckley, Steven Shatarah, Matt Mase, Dan Joseph and Chris Spencer. The team will next play Bayville at MacArther H.S. at 1:30 on Sunday. The fifth-and sixth-graders were home at MacArther H.S. against Hicksville and they too earned a shutout victory, 7-0. The team played outstanding on both sides of the field in an impressive win. Leading the scoring were Chris Tornebene and Michael Skarren who had 2 goals and an assist each while Ryan Ramo and John Augeri each added a goal and 2 assists. Tom Whitfield had a goal and 1 assist. The defense was led by goalie Tom Bruno who made 11 saves and defensemen C.J. Reilly, Cody Occini, Tim Whitlock and Sean Kelly who all played tough in helping to preserve the shutout. Groundball King of the Day was Ryan Ramo with 8. In an omission from last weeks article Dylan Saccone added one goal in that victory.
