The Dragons opened up week two of their crossover league play with a 12-2 victory over Manhasset. Pitchers Dan Weingart and junior Scott Porter combined for a two-hit victory while striking out 12 batters.

The Dragons held a 3-2 victory as Tom Messina scored two runs, and Ray Montoro banged out two hits in the first four innings. In the fifth inning, Division opened up the game with nine more runs with Jeff Tamarez hitting a leadoff triple, and adding a double. Other big hits that inning were supplied by Tom Messina, Brian Chenicek, Ray Montoro, Keith Feldman, Robbie Juliano, and Dan Cooley. Ray Montoro, led the Dragons with three hits and three RBIs and Jeff Tamarez and Keith Feldman both had two hits with two RBIs.

On Wednesday, the Dragons hosted Island Trees, the defending county champions. This game was everything it was billed up to be, and then some. The final score was 2-2, after 11 innings of action-packed play. This day was a day for the pitchers for both teams, as Mike Thompson and Greg Thomson combined for 15 strikeouts, while scattering ten hits. Division's Josh Flinn and junior Jesse Darcy combined for 14 strikeouts while scattering six hits.

Mike Thompson delivered a big triple for Trees, while junior Ray Montoro, and sophomore Dan Cooley had the RBI hits for the Dragons. Both teams had numerous scoring situations that they could not capitalize on because of the clutch pressure pitching of all four pitchers who worked this game. Division's Tom Messina and Keith Feldman both had two hit games as did Island Trees third baseman Greg Rinaldi.

Division wrapped up the week with a 6-2 victory over Bethpage whose team had guaranteed a victory over the Dragons on the half-time Howie Radio Show the night before. This was a miserable rainy day and the rain and mist continued to come down from the first pitch to the last pitch. Junior Scott Porter pitched a complete game victory scattering four hits while only walking one batter. Bethpage scored two unearned runs on sacrifice bunts that the fielders threw wildly, because the ball was so wet they couldn't grip it properly. Division scored three runs in the first and that proved to be all they needed, as Jeff Tamarez and Tom Messina walked and stole bases. Sophomore Brian Chenicek followed with a bullet line drive to knock both of them in. Junior Ray Montoro followed with another big hit of his own to knock Chenicek in. The Dragons scored the fourth run in the fourth inning as pinch hitter Rob Juliano drove in pitcher Scott Porter with a hard grounder. Jeff Tamarez and Tom Messina scored runs five and six as they got on base, and stole their way around the horn and scored on throwing errors.

The Dragons have a bye in league play next week but do play a non-league game against Valley Stream North at home on Tuesday at 4:30.
