Levittown School Officials Discuss Upcoming Budget
The Levittown Board of Education on April 15 unanimously proposed a $127.9 million expenditure budget for the 2002-03 fiscal year, representing a 7 percent increase compared to last year's budget. If approved, the average homeowner would spend $399 more in annual taxes than in the prior year.

Levittown Board and Educators Closer to Contract Agreement
The Levittown Board of Education and the teachers' union have inched closer to an agreement in the sick leave portion of a new contract and both sides were optimistic an agreement could be reached in the near future, if some adjustments are made.

Dragons Take Two and Tie One
The Dragons opened up week two of their crossover league play with a 12-2 victory over Manhasset. Pitchers Dan Weingart and junior Scott Porter combined for a two-hit victory while striking out 12 batters.

Levittown P.A.L. Lacrosse Results
The fourth-graders took on a talented Freeport team and played to a 7-7 tie in a game that was as exciting as it gets. The game went down to the final seconds and had everybody on their feet. Tommy Duggan led all scorers with 3 goals and 1 assist. Fred Mase had 2 goals and George Athan and Patrick Barber (playing in his first season) each had a goal and an assist. Dean Knox added an assist. Goalie Matthew Cronin was outstanding in the net as he made 10 spectacular saves. He was helped by the aggressive play of defensemen Ryan Braithwaite, Sean Seiderman, Peter Thearle and Joe Constabile. Ground ball King of the Day was Daniel Bartlett with 7. First year attackman Josh Barry played a great game as he made several fantastic feeds from behind the net. The boys next take on Seaford on Sunday at MacArthur H.S. at 10:30.
