Farmingdale resident John Streich, a letter carrier in East Meadow, was presented with the New York State Senate Liberty Medal last week for his heroic effort of saving a man's life at The Knolls, a senior citizen community in East Meadow.

Levittown Sports Spotlight
Any fan who is familiar with the athletic program at MacArthur H.S. and has followed the football team and now the lacrosse, has to know the name Jason Cappadoro. During the football season, Cappadoro led the Generals to the playoffs at Hofstra for the first time in seven years. He was the quarterback of the team and in addition to leading the team to Hofstra for a first round game against South Side, he set a school record for the most touchdown passes in a single season by connecting 16 times for a touchdown, throwing four in one game against Calhoun.
