The Island Trees Lady Bulldogs had a tremendous season. The Class B runner-up for two years in a row are now known as the Nassau County Class B champions! Congratulations on a job well done.

Lisa Macchia led the way through the playoffs by averaging 28 points, 21 rebounds and six blocks in the four games combined.

Congratulations to all three seniors, Macchia, Lisa Smith and Ashley Tonno on a great season. Each senior received post-season All-Star honors.

Two freshmen really stepped up this year. Gina Brewer was the starting point guard and did an outstanding job. Brittany Faherty, a second-year varsity player, was the second highest scorer on the team and received All-Conference honors for a great season.

Kaitlin Schamberger and Alyssa Fleming are two sophomores who were counted on heavily in all games. Both of these girls contributed with speed and points off the bench to get us through some tough times. Lisa LpFaso and Jessica Galella are two more sophomores who did a great job this season. Their endless work and dedication helped to bring this team to a championship. Keep an eye on all of these underclassmen. look for them to be major contributors to next year's team.
