As February rolled around, the girls varsity basketball team at Division Avenue High School was confronted with crosstown rival MacArthur High School. Both teams entered the game needing a victory to secure a playoff spot. The game turned out to be a hard-fought battle that found the Dragons and the Generals tied at 24 points apiece at halftime. Christina Buckley hit back-to-back three-pointers to end the third quarter and spark a 9-2 run that put the Blue Dragons ahead to stay. Danielle Bacon had 20 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year. This 52-48 victory clinched a playoff spot for the Dragons for the eighth time in the last nine years.

Division ended the regular season with a 63-16 victory over Great Neck North High School. This was the last home game of their careers for senior captains Nicole Brunnhoelzl and Angela Alberti. Brunnhoelzl ended the game with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, while Alberti had 5 points, 4 steals and 6 rebounds. Buckley led all scorers with 24 points.

The Lady Dragons were seeded ninth in the Nassau County Playoffs and faced number eight seeded Westbury away in the first round. Earlier in the season Westbury beat Division by 20 points. The Lady Dragons were excited about a rematch and took the Green Dragons of Westbury to double overtime before losing 65-62. Bacon had 15 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out in the first overtime. Ashley Rogala chipped in with 17 points and hit a big three-pointer at the end of the first overtime to send it into another period. Buckley led the Blue Dragons with 20 points. Buckley's two free throws at the end of regulation put the game into overtime. Brunnhoelzl had 3 points and 5 rebounds. Meghan Moran had 3 points and 4 rebounds, Alberti had 2 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals, while Jessica Matarrese added 8 rebounds.

The future looks bright as the Lady Dragons return four starters next season in juniors Bacon, Rogala, Buckley and sophomore Matarrese.
