After winning the Mid-Hudson Tournament in Kingston, NY, which is considered New York State's premier open tournament, many felt MacArthur was New York's strongest team. Others still felt that a few of upstate's stronger programs were New York's best.

Johnson City High School, who is presently ranked #2 in New York, traveled down to challenge the Generals. In a landslide match, the Generals won 10 out of 13 bouts en route to a 39-9 victory. Matt Delorenzo, T.J. Lazarus, Dylan Reitmayr, Carl Saviano, James Strouse, Adam Molano, Brent O'Donnell, Paul Mazziotti, Joe Vasold and Gian Villante all recorded victories. Johnson City then went on to beat Massapequa HS.

On Thursday, Jan. 31, MacArthur hosted the dual meet championship quarter finals and semi-final rounds. The winner will wrestle in the Nassau County finals, which will be held at Clark HS on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. This is for Conference One, which is Nassau County's super league. Nassau's 12 best teams will compete for the Nassau County title.

On Jan. 26, the Generals extended their undefeated dual-meet record to 10-0-1. The Generals beat Suffolk County powerhouses Brentwood and Patchogue-Medford High Schools. The Generals are currently ranked #1 on Long Island.
