The Ted Petersen J.V. Wrestling Tournament was held on Thursday, Dec. 27 with ten teams participating. The tournament is dedicated to the great Ted Petersen, who coached at Island Trees for over 30 years. Ted Petersen was a big fan of the J.V. Wrestler and this tournament is held in his honor.

The Island Trees Bulldogs were represented placing six wrestlers. Fourth place finishers were Dave Grodner (160) and James Hibermehl (189). Third place finishers were Kevin McGovern (152) and Tom Carroll (140). The Bulldogs crowned two champions. Sophomore Anthony Vecchione (166) took the title with a :59 second pin in the finals. The other champion was Greg Schwab (189). Greg won his final with a workmanlike 7-2 decision.
