The winter season has begun and the Division Grapplers are in full force. The 2001-2002 team looks promising with a record number of over 50 recruits. Over half of the wrestlers are ninth-graders. The rest of the team includes some quality veterans. They are All-County Steve Indelicato, Chris Bennett and Chris Hagmaier. Qualifying place winners include: Chris Siraco, Sean Fagan, Joe Hoose, Dan Lanigan, Luis Fernandez, Bill Nobile and John Degrace. Other promising returnees include: Vince Chiarelli, Mike Davis, Jim Kinder and Phil Caccamo.

The new influx of ninth-graders can be credited to the hard work and enthusiasm demonstrated by Wisdom Middle School coaches John Zampaglino and Dennis Gorman. They do a great job recruiting and laying the ground work for the Wisdom Wrestlers.

Coach Bennett would like to remind all Division graduates and their families, that we will host our third annual wrestling alumni night against Roslyn on Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. in the large gym. Anyone who would like to attend or get on the mailing list can contact Coach Bennett at 735-7184 or alumni chairman, Jim Davis at 796-4723.
