The 2001 Red Devil cheerleaders were very successful in this year's competitions. The results of the first round of competitions started with the Copiague competition where the youngest of their teams, being eight years old, took third place, and the 12-year-old team took first-place cheer and second-place dance. The next competition at Plainedge had the 12-year-old team placing third in cheer and first place in dance. The 11-year-old competition team took second place in dance and first place in cheer at the Seaford competition and the 13-year-old seniors took third place in cheer and third place in dance.

Everyone is very proud of the 14-year-old seniors as they entered the New England Regional Competition at Southern Connecticut University where they placed first in their division along with getting a bid to compete at Nationals in Walt Disney World, FL in March. This team has exceeded all expectations that were placed upon them and their coaches can't be any more proud of the way the girls have performed.

At the NSCA competition, the 11-year-old cheerleaders placed second in cheer and second in dance and the 12-year-old cheerleaders placed fourth in cheer. The Red Devil Senior Competition teams (both the 13-year-old seniors and the 14-year-old seniors) captured the attention of the audience as well as the judges and finished with a first place in cheer and first place in dance.

The final competition, LICA, proved to be competitive as usual. The Red Devils were able to hold their own coming home with the 11-year-old team clinching first place in cheer and the 13-year-old team placing second in both cheer and dance.

All teams did a phenomenal job. All are proud of the hard work and dedication these great kids put forth for their team. Congratulations and see you all in the 2002 season!
