Joel Bearman will be seeking the office of Levittown Fire Commissioner on Dec. 11 and has my full support.
Joel is best known by the community as the firefighter who teaches Fire Safety and Prevention for the Levittown Fire Department, which he has done for the 27 years that he has been a member of the department.
He has served on the Chief's Staff for the past 13 years, working closely with the Chiefs and Board of Fire Commissioners.
Joel is employed by the FDNY as an EMS lieutenant assigned to Flushing, Queens. Joel also works as an instructor for the Nassau County Fire Service Academy, Public Education Division.
I met Joel when he became involved with the L.A.C. Girls Softball League. He always gives 100 percent, which is why, as president, I presented him with the President's Award this September. Last week, Joel was elected as the president of the league.
Joel's experience as a firefighter, administrator and Emergency Medical Technician, makes him more than qualified to hold this position, as an elected official responsible for supplying fire protection and emergency medical services for the community.
In closing, I encourage all registered voters within the Levittown Fire District to vote for Joel Bearman, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 4 through 9 p.m. at the Gardiners Avenue Firehouse.
