This season finds the Division Avenue Girls Varsity Soccer Team in a rebuilding year. After a very successful season last year the Lady Dragons saw the graduation of six seniors many of whom were four-year varsity starters. Two key members of that class were Tori Blank and Chivon Noonan. Both these young ladies now attend and start for Molloy College.

Filling the gaps left in the Division lineup by Tori and Chivon's graduation was a tremendous task. It was inconceivable before the season started that such two important positions might be filled by freshmen, yet that is exactly what happened. Replacing Blank at the sweeper position is 9th-grader Katie Condit. Condit comes from a soccer-rich family. Her sister was a four-year starter for the Dragons a few years ago and now is attending Tufts University. Condit has made numerous game saving plays already this season and should be the backbone of a very tough defense in the future.

Taking up the slack in the midfield left by Chivon Noonan is freshman Mallory Inglese. Inglese already has impressed coaches and players alike with her incredible ball handling skills. Her command of the field reminds many people of the days when Jerilyn Marinan roamed the Division midfield. Marinan is now the junior varsity coach at Division and is also a member of the Lady Rough Riders.

Other outstanding freshmen helping Division rebuild are Claire Cahill, Nicole Confalone, Christine Fama and Martina Liquori. Most of these girls expect to be in the starting lineup next season for the varsity team. As these girls come together on the same soccer field great things could happen for the Blue Dragons in the future.
