Hempstead Town Councilman Gary Hudes, Republican incumbent for the seat in the 6th Councilmatic District, is facing Democrat Pat Maher. The 6th District includes East Meadow, Levittown, North Wantagh, Plainedge, Salisbury and portions of Bethpage, Merrick, North Bellmore and North Merrick.

Pat Maher is seeking election to the Town of Hempstead Town Council in the 6th district, which includes Salisbury, Levittown and East Meadow. Maher, the Democratic, Working Families, and Liberal Party candidate, is challenging Republican incumbent Gary Hudes.

Island Trees School District Proposes Bond
The Island Trees School District held a public session last Wednesday, Oct. 17 regarding a proposed bond to refurbish areas within the district. The board of education voted on Oct. 24 to decide whether or not to ask residents of the Island Trees School District to vote on the bond in December. Fabulous Freshmen
This season finds the Division Avenue Girls Varsity Soccer Team in a rebuilding year. After a very successful season last year the Lady Dragons saw the graduation of six seniors many of whom were four-year varsity starters. Two key members of that class were Tori Blank and Chivon Noonan. Both these young ladies now attend and start for Molloy College.
