With the help of County Legislator Dennis Dunne, the Island Trees High School baseball team was honored for making history as the Nassau County High School Class B Baseball Champions.

The Island Trees High School Baseball Team had a 25 and 3 record last year and defeated Wantagh High School in the best 2 out of 3 games to capture the Nassau County Championship.

To help celebrate the honor and acknowledge this outstanding accomplishment County Legislator Dennis Dunne worked with the county to create a sign to commemorate the event.

Legislator Dunne also had a sign created to honor and congratulate the 2000-2001 Island Trees High School Girl's Softball Team. The girl's softball team had a very successful season and were crowned Nassau County High School Class B Softball Champions. In 1997 the Island Trees Girl's Softball Team won both the Nassau County Championship and the Long Island Championship.
