Last Halloween the Eighth Precinct received hundreds of calls for disturbances involving youths. The main problem was large groups of teenagers, numbering in excess of 100 at times, roaming the streets of our community. These groups of youths were acting in a disorderly fashion and many of them vandalized public and private property.

In light of last year's Halloween season, the Eighth Precinct P.O.P. Unit is reaching out to local government, businesses, school districts, community leaders and concerned residents in an attempt to discourage this type of behavior from taking place again. Your cooperation is needed to get the message out that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. We ask that parents do not facilitate these problems by purchasing eggs and/or shaving cream for their children.

With your help we can make this Halloween a safe and fun event for all. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact us at 573-6870. Logo
