Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council Honors Presidents
The Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council held its 13th Annual Presidents Awards Dinner on Friday evening, Sept. 14. Youth Council Executive Director Kevin Regan said that despite the at the World Trade Center, the Youth Council held its dinner not only to recognize the dedication of the presidents of various programs, but also to bring the community together in this time of need.

Local Students Do Their Part to Help
In the days following the tragedy at the World Trade Center, several local students in the Levittown and Island Trees School Districts looked to do their part to help those in need. Whether setting up donation sites, standing on the side of local roads holding candles and flags or hosting car washes to raise money, students throughout the community came out in full force offering any assistance they could and really made a difference.

Registration for the Levittown North Baseball Association's 2002 season starts on Friday, Oct. 5. The registration location is at 3816 Hunt Rd. in Wantagh, on Hunt Rd., 500 feet west of Seaman's Neck Rd.

National Merit Semifinalists
A. Celentano, principal of MacArthur High School, announced recently that seniors Emily LaDue and Christopher M. Lynch have been designated as semifinalists in the 47th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Approximately 16,000 academically talented high school seniors now have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 Merit Scholarship awards, worth over $32 million, that will be offered next spring.
