Wednesday, Sept. 12 - A deep sense of shock and sadness pervaded the communities of Nassau County today, in the wake of yesterday's terrorist strikes on America, which are being described by President Bush as "the most devastating terrorist attacks in the nation's history," and "an act of war."

Levittown PAL Fall Registration
Ages 7 and up - Coed: Lessons on modern indoor tennis courts. Professional tennis instruction. Bring racquet and sneakers (balls will be provided). Classes at Sportime, 101 Norcross Avenue, Bethpage (933-8500). Ten Registrants; One instructor per class. These are considered beginner classes although everyone is welcome to join. Classes on Sundays starting Sept. 30 and ending Nov. 18. Children will be divided into two age groups. One will consist of children ages 7, 8 and 9 and the other ages 10 and older. Classes will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Additional classes may be added from 7 to 8 p.m. if demand requires. There are no make-ups unless we cancel a class (eight weeks). Registration $50.

This past spring two division athletes were selected to their respective sports all state team for their outstanding play throughout the 2001 spring athletic season.
