The Island Trees High School baseball coaches would like to congratulate Greg Thomson for being selected to the All-State team for the second consecutive season. Thomson, who will be a senior in September, hit .446 this season with seven homeruns and 36 RBIs while playing tremendous defense in centerfield. He was also 7-0 as a pitcher, with 78 strikeouts in 48 innings and an ERA of .43. Thomson was named to the first ever All Long Island team, and was named the MVP of the Nassau County Playoffs while leading the Bulldogs to a county championship. He is being heavily recruited by many Division I colleges and has drawn serious interest from many pro scouts.

The coaches would also like to congratulate the nine senior members of the 2001 championship team. All nine will continue their education this fall at the college level. Seven of the nine seniors received either a scholastic or athletic scholarship. Congratulations and good luck to all the graduates.
